MY EARS. THEY BLEED!

Something to bring you back to reality: a video of a woman and a man being ‘repatriated’ by her country.

A brilliant neighbourhood action by a bunch of citizens taking action against a group of Christians who have been harassing a gay couple and holding prayer meetings outside their home.

“This is a group from a church at the end of my street. Apparently they have been grouping in front of a gay couple’s house and reading their bible loudly for the past 7 years. They may have also driven a lesbian couple from the area as well by doing the same thing. Tonight most of our neighbours came out and were successful in getting them to leave. The people who go to that church don’t even live in our area! Police came by shortly thereafter.”

Coughlan616 shared this video with me via Facebook and it made me grin: LatumWay, a Brit (we think) who rails against people wearing Che Guevarra T-shirts unless they’re trolling irl.

For those of you that don’t know, Che Guevara was a Cuban militant who terrorised Southern America and (of all places) the Congo together with, and later with the help of Fidel Castro. He was shot dead in Bolivia by the army and not as LaturnWay says by a farmer:

The executioner was Mario Terán, a half-drunken sergeant in the Bolivian army who had requested to shoot Che on the basis of the fact that three of his friends from B Company, all named “Mario”, had been killed in an earlier firefight with Guevara’s band of guerrillas.

Still, despite that little hiccup there, LaturnWay’s analysis is pretty spot on. Che was also a mass murderer and responsible for over 9000 people killed during his lifetime.

I’ve mentioned to my wife that I’d like a t-shirt with the Che Guevara face on the front and the coolface on the back.

A Christian Evangelical user called ‘Shock of God’ decided to challenge the Atheists to a battle of words and has had a quite predictable response. His video (which I mysteriously can’t locate on Youtube, even on his channel) asks the Atheists to ‘Prove atheism is accurate and correct’. Atheists across the world – around 100 and growing by my estimate – have responded to this challenge with videos. The fight’s gone nuclear as loads of videos are garnishing (in some cases) tens of thousands of hits a piece. The responses range from angry to comical to down right philosophical.

YouToobers AronRa and Coughlan616, notable atheists within the video sharing community and all around bad dudes, respond to the challenge in their own unique ways. The battle is on!

First up, Coughlan616. His video states:

There’s some amateurs out there who would have you believe that this is an invalid question.

Fair enough; let’s have a look.

Next up is AronRa. His response is more to the point. The blurb accompanying the video states:

Everyone else has already answered this “challenge”, so I guess it is my turn -especially since it was directed to the Atheist Experience and the League of Reason, and I am the only person to ever appear on both of those shows. That, and nameless internet nobodies have been messaging me asking me to make this video -as if I hadn’t already addressed this on the air, as it it was ever a challenge of any sort to begin with.
