This is a great little video I stumbled across slagging off The Sun newspaper. This scathing little gem, made by a user named nerimon and his stoner mates, points out how utterly crap the Sun Newspaper really is.

Personally, I would only touch The Sun if I was desperate for some reading material on a bus. I do look at the Sun website from time to time though. I tend to read fark.com a lot, which has amusing article links pointing to papers and sites. I sometimes meander past a gem like this one: “Diner gunman nicked as he scoffs meal after raid“.

I myself class The Sun and rags like The Daily Mail in the same group of newspapers: sensationalists. The Sun is the most sensationalist newspaper – writing circle-jerk articles about themselves,  displaying as many boobs as possible (srsly, guys at The Sun, if you read this: we need more lady ass plz kthx. I’d prefer a good rear end to a big set of knockers any day) and generally publishing any celebrity tripe they can get their grubby semi-journalistic hands on.

The Daily Mail site (or as Moonpocket refers to them occasionally: ‘The Daily Hate’) on the other hand has more vitriolic stories containing anything that is considered outrageous. If you want to be outraged, read The Daily Hate. Stories about murdering asylum seekers, young offenders, muslims and right wing politics are ten-a-penny there.

The comments section of this rag is filled mostly with outraged British mothers and the occasional smattering of  Teabaggers / Sarah Palin lovers. The occasional tame flame war instigated by racists, bigots and the Holier-than-thou crowd is skillfully manipulated by the commentating moderators and never gets out of hand because of it. It is well worth visiting just for the high stupidity factor.

In my opinion the only redeeming feature of the Daily Mail is it’s science section, which contains reasonably well researched articles on space exploration, technology and environmental issues. But I’ll let you decide.

Merry Christmas you tossers! Ok, I’m a bit late! So sue me.

I’ve had a nasty cold for 5 days and I haven’t been able to get an internet connection in the house I’ve been staying at for days to boot. Not a good Christmas for me. Anyway, I’m back in the land of the living now.

Good news is on the horizon though: we’ve attracted a new blogger: Crome. Crome is a heavy metal guru who can’t spell (but I’m the editor, so you won’t notice that). He’s been a productive (ahem) member of #english for years.
