We’re all just slabs of meat in the end. After a quite heavy religious discussion on our chat channel #english we segwayed into a discussion about an old internet meme/story called “They’re made out of meat”.
My good friend Max managed to find this video which someone made as a short film in honour of the story. I managed to locate the original, written by Terry Bisson as well. The story centres around the discussion between two aliens about humans, their nature and how to handle them. It’s quite a disturbing look from outside the human perspective on what we could mean to others out there in the galaxy.
One of the movies you simply must see is the Big Lebowski.
TBL is about ‘The Dude’, a lowlife slacker from California who gets involved with a kidnapping after some gangsters piss on his rug. Together with his two sidekicks he attempts to solve the mystery while pondering life’s mysteries and getting high.

To use the new IRC widget simply click the IRC link in the top menu.
Just click the IRC link in the top menu, choose a nickname and you’re ready to go. The client will connect to IRCnet and join our #english chat channel automatically.
Last night I was typing things into Google and I came across a funny thing when I typed in ‘in france’. The suggestions Google gives for recent and popular searches made me laugh and I started looking up other countries. Some are funny, some were weird and others downright disturbing.
