Our favorite angry atheist does it again. Pat Condell’s made a good post on the aftermath of the release of the movie Fitna by Gerrit Weldon.
Here’s our Pat having a go…
Great work, Pat.
Meanwhile Liveleak has reposted the Fitna movie, after having to remove it because of cowardly death threats on their staff by people not mature enough to argue their case with words of reason. Here’s Liveleak’s statement:
On the 28th of March LiveLeak.com was left with no other choice but to remove the film “fitna” from our servers following serious threats to our staff and their families. Since that time we have worked constantly on upgrading all security measures thus offering better protection for our staff and families. With these measures in place we have decided to once more make this video live on our site. We will not be pressured into censoring material which is legal and within our rules. We apologise for the removal and the delay in getting it back, but when you run a website you don’t consider that some people would be insecure enough to threaten our lives simply because they do not like the content of a video we neither produced nor endorsed but merely hosted.
I am a happy man tonight. Thank you Pat and thank you Liveleak. You are both warriors of reason and (dare i say it) crusaders for a better world where freedom of speech rules above the hatred and inhumanity of religion.

The worldwide protests concerning Geert Wilders’ film Fitna give us some insight into the extremist Muslims who really feel offended by the 15 minute film. Some of the images are quite funny though.
Here are the photos from last weekend…

In Karachi, Pakistan some guy named Garret Weldon’s being demonised. I wonder what he did.

In Indonesia the extremists were so angry they ran out of paint for their signs.
We’ll keep you posted about more fun fundamentalism from around the world.

There’s sweet irony in this world.
An atheist blogger was banned from attending the screening of a creationist movie called Expelled last week, but his special guest was allowed in because he wasn’t recognised by the staff there.
This wouldn’t be news.. except for the fact that it was this man…

All hail Richard Dawkins. Dawkins is one of the most famous atheists and god-botherers of our time.
Wikipedia notes:
In addition to his biological work, Dawkins is well-known for his views on organised religion. He is an outspoken antireligionist and atheist; a secular humanist, sceptic, scientific rationalist, and a supporter of the Brights movement. He is a prominent critic of creationism and intelligent design. In his 2006 book The God Delusion, Dawkins contends that a supernatural creator almost certainly does not exist and that religious faith qualifies as a delusion, which he defines as a persistent false belief held in the face of strong contradictory evidence. As of November 2007, the English version book had sold more than 1.5 million copies and had been translated into 31 languages, making it his most popular book to date.
Not too smart, are they, creationists. You can read the entire article here.

Geert Wilders’ movie Fitna has been removed from liveleak after ‘threats of a serious nature’.
Liveleak’s statement:
Following threats to our staff of a very serious nature, and some ill informed reports from certain members of the British media that could directly threaten the safety of some staff members, Liveleak has been left with no other choice but to remove Fitna from our servers.
This is a sad day for freedom of speech on the net but we have to place the safety and well being of our staff above all else. We would like to thank the thousands of people from all backgrounds and religions who gave us their support. They realised Liveleak.com is a vehicle for many opinions and not for the support of one.
Perhaps there is still hope that this situation may produce a discussion that could benefit and educate all of us as to how we can accept one anothers culture.
We stood for what we believe in, in the ability to be heard, but in the end the price was too high.
The stupid and ignorant have done it again. We should be thanking them, really. Because there’s one thing I know for sure: it’s going to bite them in the ass.
Youtube still has the video online, and we’ll keep showing it.

Here’s Geert Wilders’ short movie Fitna which has been hyped by the media for a few months.
Geert Wilders is a Dutch member of Parliament who advocates the banning of the Koran in the Netherlands.
Wikipedia notes:
Geert Wilders favors the restriction of immigration, particularly from non-Western countries. As self-proclaimed defender of free speech and critic of Islam, he has sought to ban the Koran in the Netherlands because he believes it to be in conflict with Dutch law.
For this stance he’s recieved world-wide condemnation from zealous Muslims as well as liberal Western politicians. His movies website was taken offline by his provider as well.
Personally I believe he’s unfairly targetting the Muslim faith. All religion is destructive and based on bigotry; the Bible contains just as much shit as the Koran. The film’s not very good either.. basicly a few Youtube videos and newspaper images edited together.
Anyway.. make up your own minds… here’s Geerts movie (in English of course):
Fitna the Movie: Geert Wilders’ film about the Quran (English)
Let’s see how all the Muslims around the world react to this, shall we? Remember, boys and girls: religion damages more than just your brain. It damages society.
